In the framework of PartnerRe Group strategy, build, develop and manage an underwriting team, client relationships and portfolio of contracts in order to generate target return on capital deployed for the line of business, thus contributing to creation of value for the Group. SPEME includes:Worldwide Commercial Property underwritersWorldwide Engineering underwritersWordwide Marine Hull, Cargo and LiabilityWorldwide Upstream and Downstream Energy Underwriters Worldwide Terror, Nuclear and Lloyds’ D&F
About the role:Provide underwriting strategy and leadership to the underwriting teamsLead a multi-location, multi-cultural market-leading team, enabling empowerment while maintaining appropriate controlsContinue to build and develop a culture of Agility and High PerformanceProvide a senior market presence and continue to build the PartnerRe brand with key clients and brokersDevelop and execute yearly action planAssume Profit & Loss responsibilityLead portfolio management and ensure exposure and risk accumulations according to the particularities of the line of business Ensure compliance with underwriting guidelinesEnsure administration and data qualityEnsure a smooth quarterly closing processEstablish budgets and reporting for the departmentNew product development for risks related to lines of businessSpecial tasks and projects as requested by managementSupport public relations activities in respect of risks related to line of businessCooperate with Legal and Compliance Department and Underwriting OfficeCooperate with Claims Department according to guidelinesMaintain and improve pricing tools and methodologies (with Pricing Department)Cooperate with Retrocession Department (as appropriate)
About youExtensive underwriting experiences in the various lines of business within SPEME.Clear portfolio management and optimization experiencewith demonstrated ability to manage a profitable portfolio.Accepted market leader in the SPEME market segment with sufficient gravitas with major clients and brokers to represent and develop the PartnerRe brand.Experiences managing teams in a global setting.Ability to create internal followership whilst empowering colleagues to be accountableSolid commercial and negotiation skills.Proven ability to deliver on defined targets and goals.
The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator, and capable of working in a culturally, and geographically, diverse environment. The candidate should have strong interpersonal and relationship management skills, including: professional appearance, good presentation skills; personal initiative, a sense of entrepreneurship, creativity, and the ability to direct energy towards client focused solution building. The individual should have previous experience of managing a global team and have proven experience in developing managing and leading a team.
The geographical location of this role is agnostic and can be based out of any of our offices globally
